Diisodecyl Pthalate

Diisodecyl pthalate is a plasticizer and softener classified as a pthalate.  It is primarily used in the polymer industry and in some cases categorized as a lubricant and additive.  It is primarily used in the manufacturing process of polyvinyl chloride and other vinyl products such as wire and cable.  DIDP has previously been found in children’s toys but government regulation has since limited its use in that application due to toxicity dangers.
