Dioctyl Pthalate

Dioctyl Pthalate appears as a clear liquid and carries a mild odor.  It’s properties make it slightly less dense than water.  Also known as Pthalic acid, it is used as an additive to keep plastics soft or more flexible and is used for medical tubing, blood storage bags, wiring and other adhesives. It is also used in cosmetics and pesticides.
